Winning Construction Plant Apprentice at Ridgway 2020

Winning Construction Plant Apprentice at Ridgway

We are pleased to announce our construction plant apprentice, Sam Jones, was awarded regional Plant Technician of the Year (Level 3) this year!

Sam began as an apprentice at Ridgway back in September 2019 beginning with the Level 2 Diploma in Construction Plant Machinery Maintenance at Reaseheath College. After successfully completing this, he went on to study at level 3 and has now successfully completed that too.

Workshop Manager, Dave Jenkins recalls “Sam showed great promise from the very start here at Ridgway and has made huge improvements in both his practical and theory skills whilst completing his level 2 & 3 Diplomas at Reaseheath College. Winning this award is a testament to the dedication & hard work that Sam has put in both at College and here at Ridgway and we are very proud of him.”

Sam now contributes daily to the efficiency of the department and is considered an integral member of our service team

Sam’s interest in machinery started from a very early age and he now enjoys renovating vintage farm and construction plant machinery in his spare time. Sam is rightly proud of his achievement and has set the bar high for our future apprentices to follow!

Construction Plant Association’s Awards Ceremony Held Online

Plans for the awards ceremony to be held in Warwickshire earlier this year were sadly cancelled due to current restrictions. However, the CPA felt it was important to continue with the awards programme to recognise and reward the talents and achievements of apprentices and trainees in the plant sector, especially in these challenging times so hosted the event online.
